Maude “Joellen” Cooper was born on October 21, 1935 in Wichita, KS; the daughter of Virgil Willis and Nora Elizabeth (Owens) Nance. She was a Piedmont High School graduate and continued her education at Susan B. Allen Nursing School. Joellen was united in marriage to Jack M. Cooper in 1957. She worked for many years as a registered nurse at Susan B. Allen on the OB floor and as a family practice nurse. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting and crafting. Her loving family includes her children, Lori (Bryan) Nolan of El Dorado, Eric (Debbie) Cooper of Wichita and Chris (Lea Ann) Cooper of El Dorado; grandchildren, Amy (Justin) Sterling, Brynn (Cody Lawson) Ewart, Chad (Jessica) Nolan, Kyle Cooper, Kelsi Cooper and Logan (Taylor) Cooper; three great granddaughter; three great grandsons and one great grandson on the way. Joellen passed away on December 7, 2022 at 87 years old. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jack.
Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, December 12 from 5-7 PM at Carlson Funeral Home. Celebration of Joellen’s life will be on Tuesday, December 13 at 1 PM at Carlson Colonial Chapel.
