James Earl Glenn of Burns, Kansas passed away at the age of 89 on January 21, 2022.
Earl was born at Stony Point, Arkansas on August 21, 1932. He graduated from Springdale, Arkansas in the class of 1950. Earl spent his early life working as a driller in the oil fields and later worked the laboratory for three different refineries. He later retired as superintendent of water and wastewater for the city of Burns.
He is proceeded in death by his wife Mary (Nolan) Glenn; parents James Paul and Gertrude (Lewis) Glenn; stepson Raymond Griggs Rogers of Arkansas; and great grandson, Cody Aiden Shipman.
He was first married to AliceMay (Thompson) on December 28, 1951 and then later married Mary (Nolan) Griggs on July 21, 1984.
Earl was a member of the Baptist Church in Springdale, Arkansas. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge in El Dorado, Kansas in 1960. Earl has been a member of the Masonic Lodge #97 since 1972. He and his wife loved fishing, golf, and traveling.
Earl leaves his two daughters Linda (Danny) Shipman of El Dorado, Kansas; Sandra (Jim) Unruh of Lawrence, Kansas; Stepdaughters Connie Pace of El Dorado, Kansas; Jan (Phil) Willis of Leon, Kansas; Katherine Speer of Wichita, Kansas; 17 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren.
Earl and Mary will be buried at Bluff Cemetery in Springdale, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 28, at 11am at the Carlson Colonial Funeral Home in El Dorado. James will be laid to rest at the Bluff Cemetery in Springdale, Arkansas on Saturday, January 29 at 11am. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to Patmos Lodge #97 in El Dorado.
