Fredrick “Freddie” James Brush, 89, of Towanda, Kansas, passed away on Friday, November 3rd, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Freddie was born on May 2nd, 1934, to Floyd and Edith (Wallace) Brush in Peabody, Kansas.
He graduated from Towanda High School in 1952. He married the love of his life, Barbara (Bailey) Brush on March 27th, 1953, at the Towanda Christian Church. They were married 70 years and shared a very happy life together.
Freddie worked as a missile technician at Boeing and happily retired after 43 years of hard work and dedication. In his spare time, Freddie enjoyed working on lawn mowers, building things and fixing things for Barbara, and tinkering around in the yard. Most of all, he loved spending time with his beloved family.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Brush; his children, Michael (Carol) Brush, of Omaha, Nebraska, Patricia (John) Steinbacher, of El Dorado, Kansas, Jennifer (Kirby) Krebsbach, of Williston, ND; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Rowell, of South Carolina, and brother, Albert Brush, of North Carolina.
Family and friends will gather at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 7th from 5-7pm for visitation. A graveside service will take place at Towanda Cemetery on Wednesday, November 8th at 10:30am.
Memorial donations in Freddie’s name may be directed towards The American Heart Association.
