Denecia Colleen Rodriguez

Denecia “Neci” Colleen Rodriguez life began on September 26, 1995 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Shelly Rodriguez and Kadir Lengesso. She passed away unexpectedly Monday September 13, 2021 in Wichita, Kansas.

Neci spent most of her life in El Dorado where she grew up! She has spent her last few years in the Wichita area and has made many friends over the years. Those who knew her well, knew that she loved to get dressed up and wear her heels, and she really loved having her morning coffee! Neci loved her family fiercely. She became a mom in August 2014 and her kids were the highlight of her life! She was funny, down to earth and very spontaneous. Neci could sell or talk anyone into just about anything, and she would always help anyone that she could, no matter what.

She is survived by her Mother Shelly Rodriguez (stepdad Jesse Bynum); Brother Anthony and his wife Melissa Rodriguez; Sister Shenessa Rodriguez; Step Sister Mariah Bynum; Daughters Jaidah, Journeigh, and Jestani; Son Jaylen; Nieces Angalina, Sophyia, and Ava; Nephews Anthony (James), Tyllier, Maxton, and Ayden! She is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, a Great Grandpa, and many close friends!

She is proceeded in death by her Father Kadir Lengesso; Maternal Great Grandma Hazel Jackson; Maternal Grandma Brenda Rogers; Maternal Grandpa James Toothman; Aunt Barbara Fedoroff; and two cousins.

A go fund me has been created to help pay for her funeral expenses and anything left will go to help her mom with her 4 kids as they began this journey without their mom. Memorial donations can be directed to Shelly Rodriguez, in order to care for Denecia’s children.

Denecia will lie in state on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 9am-5pm with a funeral service to follow on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 1pm, all at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
