Carol Ann Sibley

Carol Ann Sibley, of El Dorado, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the age of 86. Carol was born on March 14, 1935 to Theodore and Frances (King) Cory in Hutchison, Kansas. She and her parents moved to El Dorado during her freshman year of high school. She graduated EHS Class of 1953. Carol was a beautiful woman, inside and out. She was not a fancy or frilly woman, but she was absolutely beautiful. She enjoyed life to the fullest. She lived to help others around her. She spent many hours volunteering with Meals on Wheels, she was a member of a sewing club that sewed various things for hospital patients, and a lot of her time was spent at her church, First United Methodist Church of El Dorado. She was a member of various FUMC Circles and she loved going to the circle meetings. She taught a preschool children’s Sunday school class for 20 years. On May 14, 1966 she married her love, Arthur Russell Sibley. They spent 37 years of love and happiness together before his passing on February 16, 2002. Carol also had a love for dogs and cats. She loved to support her favorite animal rescue, Always and Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary. She enjoyed watching and listening to the videos that the animal sanctuary would post each day of the dogs that were ready to be adopted and she became quite attached. While she was always happy for the dogs that got adopted, she missed seeing their continued videos and updates. Carol also enjoyed watching and attending Dallas Cowboys games and the Kansas Jayhawks.
Carol was a very loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and neighbor who will be deeply missed by those who loved her most.
Carol is survived by her children, Lori Sibley of El Dorado, KS, John R (Judy) Sibley of El Dorado, KS, and Arthur Lee (Chong) Sibley of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Joel C Sibley of El Dorado, KS, Jarratt W Nelson of El Dorado, KS, Pamala Griffen of Indianapolis, IN, Mary Story Indianapolis, IN, Rebecca Myers Indianapolis, IN, and Arthur Russell Sibley II Indianapolis, IN; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Paige Nelson, John Henry Sibley, William Griffen, Jack Griffen, Miles Myers, Harrison Myers, Caroline Story, Cynthia Sibley, Gracie Sibley, and Russell Sibley; along with several other cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Frances (King) Sibley; grandparents, Sam and Eva Cory and Sherman and Minnie King; and her husband of 37 years, Arthur Russell Sibley.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 1pm at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
